If you're in the heart of Hayle and looking for a charming spot to unwind with delightful eats and refreshing drinks, look no further than Cafe Riviera. Nestled along the picturesque King George V Memorial Walk, this cafe is more than just a quick stop; it’s a lovely escape that offers a delightful blend of homemade food and a warm atmosphere.

Cafe Riviera boasts a menu that caters to various tastes, making it a convenient choice for a leisurely breakfast or a light lunch. For those hot summer days, their cold drinks like Elderflower and Gingerbeer provide the perfect refreshing sip. Meanwhile, the Ice Cream Float serves as a whimsical treat, evoking childhood memories. If you're in the mood for something cozy, their selection of hot drinks, including Espresso, Latte, and Mocha, offers warmth and richness that comforts the soul.

The cafe's atmosphere is a delightful mix of quaint and casual. Picture yourself enjoying a lovely meal in the backyard summerhouse or at one of their outdoor tables, relaxing under the open sky as you take in the sights and sounds of Hayle Estuary. The reviews speak volumes about the experience; Jim Ransley raves, "We had a nice breakfast, great value and good service," reflecting the cafe's commitment to customer satisfaction. And John Thornton notes the real gem here is the astonishing menu — an impressive variety of choices at reasonable prices, perfect for those just passing through or taking a moment to delight in their surroundings.

Another highlight is their toasted sandwiches, celebrated by Antony Barbery as "the best yet," showcasing the cafe's dedication to serving fresh, delicious food. While some might find the prices slightly higher – such as Martin Lane's comment on the £5.50 sausage, egg, and bacon sandwich – the quality and care put into each dish speaks volumes and makes every bite worth it.

In a world where the hustle can often drown out the taste of home, Cafe Riviera stands as a beacon of wholesome, hearty meals served with a personal touch. If you’re near Hayle, make it a point to visit this lovely cafe. Enjoy a cup of excellent brew, take in the beauty of the estuary, and cherish the sense of community that this delightful spot fosters. Long may it remain a cherished local treasure!

This is small takeaway with a garden summerhouse shed next to it to sit and eat if preferred. We arrived after a long work that took us last Lula - that is a massive cafe but on this wet windy day it was full! Must be all those NY visitors. As we were parked at swimming pool carpark we tried Cafe Riviera. The menu is astonishing - so many choices and prices are reasonable. Luckily venue was quiet and our small group took over the “shed”. It’s a cosy space and nicely decorated. But if busy you could just eat in the car as carpark is merely feet away. The food ordered covered lots of options on the menu, including the full breakfast. It took a while to get thevfood but that was down to lots of orders all at once and the place being resourced by only one person to cook, take orders and process payments. With all this pressure it was a joy to get such good quality food. A few people left the queue as too much pressure on one member of staff. So if you do visit, you need to be patient or be lucky that place is quiet or has more staff. The venue is much more than a takeaway hot drink/cold drink/ice cream and hot rolls venue. It’s a big stretch to expect such an extensive menu to be covered by one person. It’s definitely worth a visit - just look at the menu in photos.

Good home made food served in a delightful summer house...or at outdoor tables. Great food and drink at reasonable prices. Situated on Hayle Estuary road so just moments from the Estuary itself or Quay and beach. Really nice little place. Long may it remain.

Toasted sandwich best yet. Able to sit in cabin on site to get out of the wind. Excellent cuppa . Clean tidy and very friendly.

Lovely sausage egg and bacon sandwich, freshly cooked so can take a little while and a tad on the expensive side at £5.50.

Nice samwiches, but Like their sign asks, I rang in advance to save time to be told quite sharply that they dont't take phone orders. Next time I'll use Thought Transference and see if that works.......

Came across this by chance and it's lovely. Really friendly staff, home made soups, free range eggs, sensible pricing and a must unusual little cafe. I'll be back on purpose.
